Roman Monuments Tour in Arles
- Vincent arrived in Arles day of February 1888 in search of the light from outside and interior illumination.
- Discover, throughout the tour, both the rich Roman heritage and monuments and places that inspired the painter.
- Optional: Guided visit of the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh.
- Located at the foot of the Alpilles, Saint Remy de Provence has an exceptionally rich historical heritage. This small, dynamic city has kept its traditions and personality. Don't miss wandering the lively streets of the town center; you will see the magnificent 17th and 18th-century facades of private residences.
- Discover “the Antiques”, a unique example of Roman architecture, not very far from St Remy de Provence: The Mausoleum of Julius and the Arc of Triumph, dating from 20 AD.
- Last stop is the Les Baux de Provence, perched on a spur of rock. The village is a listed heritage site that has won its title of “One of the most beautiful villages in France”.
