Itinerary

1. Day 1: Helsinki to Kittilä

   • You will fly from Helsinki to Kittilä. We will know the time only when we get your tickets; in most cases is a flight around midday.
   • Upon arrival at the airport in Kittilä, a driver will be waiting for you to take you to the hotel at Levi ski resort, where you will be staying. I'll be at the hotel to explain the surroundings and what you can do by yourselves if you feel like doing something that day. This day is for you to settle down and get to know around on your own. 

2. Day 2: Huskies

   • Meet the real Siberian Huskies, enjoy the surroundings, and get excited with the speed of the sledge! Huskies enjoy adventure, and pulling sledges fills them with joy. Without a doubt, you will be able to see their enthusiasm before starting this activity and get ready to feel the adrenaline as these wonderful puppies can reach a speed of 70 km/h. After the tour with the huskies, you can learn more about them and see the other arctic animals living there. 

3. Day 3: Morning - Snowshoeing

   •  A snowshoe excursion is the best way to get to know the Finnish forest and feel the winter in Lapland; using snowshoes is simple, and the most important thing is that it is very entertaining, an activity that you will undoubtedly enjoy defying the cold and where we take our adventurous side to explore the area. On the way, we will have stops to appreciate the landscape and answer any curiosity that comes to mind while doing the activity.
   • Afternoon - Reindeer sleigh
     • We will visit one of the most traditional reindeer farms in the Kittilä area, which belongs to the Samis (indigenous people from the north whose main activity is reindeer herding).
     • At the farm, you will enjoy time with the reindeer, see how they live, and feed them.
     • The local Samis are in charge of directing the reindeer sledges and will take you for a ride around the snowy forest.

4. Day 4: Ice fishing, Northern Lights and Finnish food

   • Morning - Ice fishing 
     • In the winter, all the lakes in Finland freeze over, allowing us to go ice fishing, and you can live this unique experience in the lake where we will be located. There you will learn how to use the rods to carry out this type of fishing, and then we will proceed to make our holes with the manual ice drill, where each one will try their luck in fishing. Furthermore, the lake provides an opportunity to experience the silence and tranquillity of winter nature in Lapland. 
   • Night - Northern Lights and Finnish food
     • We will locate in a perfect spot where we can generally see the auroras if the weather is good, and while we wait for them in the forest, we will enjoy traditional Finnish food and drinks by the campfire. You will also find out how this natural phenomenon occurs and the legends that go around the northern lights. This excursion is ideal for learning more about Finnish culture through food and the nature surrounding us.

5. Day 5: Sauna and ice swimming

   • Dive into the ice-cold water and enjoy the full winter sauna experience.
   • Swimming on ice is something extraordinary. Something essential to living when you visit Finland in winter. It may sound impossible, but once you've done it, you'll understand why it's so popular. Immersing yourself in the cold water gives you a unique and indescribable sensation, and if you combine it with the traditional Finnish sauna, the experience is complete.
   • This activity will make you feel the soul of Finland by delving into the most important tradition of this country.

6. Day 6: Snowvillage Hotel

   • A unique experience in the snow world!
   • Your adventure in the ice hotel begins with a guided tour where I will explain how this magical place is built every year while you can observe the ice art around you. Also, you will enjoy a significant moment in the Ice bar having liquor in a glass of ice while we have the tour.
   • Later you will have your dinner in the ice restaurant where you will taste the delicacies of Lapland.
   • When the time for sleep comes, you will have the fantastic experience of spending your night in one of the snow rooms in the ice hotel, where you will have special equipment to be comfortable to cope with the cold. 
   • The next day you will enjoy a delicious breakfast served in the warm restaurant, and at check-out, private transport will be waiting for you to take you airport.

7. Day 7: Departure

   • Your private transport will pick you up from Snowvillage Hotel to take you to the airport, and you will fly to Helsinki, and with this, the program is done.
