Itinerary

1. Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara

   • Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to Wilson Airport for your morning flight to Masai Mara, departing at 10:00 am.

   • As you disembark your plane at Olkiombo Airstrip, you will find a friendly and knowledgeable Maasai Guide ready to take you on your very first Game Drive in one  4x4 Safari Land Cruisers.

   • During your drive, get introduced to the exceptional wildlife of the Maasai Mara, including thriving populations of lions, elephants, cheetah and leopards.

   • Arrive at Basecamp Maasai Mara for lunch, freshly prepared by trained team of Maasai chefs.

   • After lunch, wander around the camp compound and reconnect with your well-travelled self while you take in the tranquillity of your new surrounding.

   • At 4 pm, meet your Maasai Guide to explore new dimensions of the Savannah during your afternoon game drive.

   • Return to the camp in time for a mouth-watering three-course dinner, followed by story sharing and stargazing around the fireplace.

   • When you are ready, retire to your tent and be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the savannah.

2. Day 2: Masai Mara

   • Wake to the magnificent ‘wake up call’ of  Masai Mara’s astonishing birdlife.

   • After breakfast, meet your Naturalist Maasai Guide for a walk around the compound.

   • During your walk, get introduced to some of the operational elements that have made Basecamp a leading pioneer in responsible tourism.

   • Visit the Basecamp Maasai Brand (BMB) workshop, one of its capacity-building projects that employ 118 women.

   • Complete your walk by planting a tree in the Tree Plantation, just like the Obama family did when they stayed in the camp.

   • Head for a freshly prepared lunch, served underneath the trees overlooking the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

   • Stroll across the private suspension bridge to join your Driver Guide for an afternoon game drive. Finish your Game Drive with a traditional Basecamp Sundowner under an Acacia Tree.

   • Return to BCMM for dinner, followed by story sharing and stargazing around the fireplace.

   • Awake to the magnificent ‘wake up call’ symphony of Masai Mara’s astonishing birdlife.

   • Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before embarking on a full-day safari in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Abundant wildlife on the savannah gives fantastic photo opportunities. The incredible backdrop of clear blues and the rolling Savannah will captivate you, providing you with memories to last a lifetime.

   • Catch the action as the predators hunt their prey and stalk the herds just like the lions and the cheetahs, capturing them with your lens and in your heart. 

   • Return to camp at sundown for dinner, followed by relaxation at the campfire as you tell of your experiences in the African wilderness.

3. Day 3: Masai Mara to Nairobi

   • Wake at dawn in time for a final walking safari or a game drive.

   • Witness how the savannah comes alive as the sun rises.

   • Return for breakfast and collect your things. Just like the wildebeest, the time has come to wander on.

   • Reach the Ol Kiombo Air Strip in time for your scheduled 11 am flight, the perfect departure time for international connections.

   • Upon landing at Wilson airport, head back to the airport or your hotel in Nairobi.
