Mombasa tour
Explore the bustling open-air market, which has been in operation since colonial days.
Visit Fort Jesus, which was built by the Portuguese 400 years ago to protect their interest in East Africa. It dominates the entrance to Mombasa Harbor and commands good views over the Old Town.
Tour the old Arab town streets with our Mombasa tour guide to see the intricate hand carved doors and balconies hanging over the narrow streets, still unchanged for hundreds of years.
Visit the Old Harbour, which is still occasionally used by Dhows from Arabia and India.
Pass by the atmospheric fish market, where local fishermen display each day’s catch.
Drive through the Elephant Tusks on Moi Avenue (a poignant reminder of the illegal ivory trade in Kenya).
Proceed to the Akamba woodcarvers area where you can see the carvers at work.
Enjoy the fascinating and world-famous Haller Park, a former quarry that has now been transformed into a variety of recreational facilities including forests / nature trails, game sanctuaries, crocodile and fish farms. See various animals including hippos, antelopes, birds, reptiles, snakes, giant tortoises, crocodiles and giraffe.
Board your transport and be dropped at your beach hotel or cottage in the afternoon.
