Itinerary

1. Day 1: Nairobi – Lodwar

   • Airport transfer from Hotel or residential to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Local airlines to Lodwar: Skyward Express and Fly 540. Flight is a maximum of 50 minutes. 
   • On arrival; pick up and drop off to Eliye Springs Lodwar located in the shores of Lake Turkana. It is located 50 kilometres east of Lodwar. The local springs produce lush vegetation along its section of the otherwise barren lake shore and support a community of about 5000 people with fresh drinking water.
   • Lunch is served; relax at the sandy beaches of the North. 

   Dinner and overnight at the hotel, room option.

2. Day 2: Central Island Excursion

   • Full day excursion on the Central Island. The Central Island, also known as Crocodile Island, is the gem of Lake Turkana. The Volcanic Island emerges starkly from the blue-green waters of the largest desert lake in the world. The Central Island is made up of three active volcanoes that belch sulphurous smoke and steam. The 3 crater lakes, Crocodile Lake, Flamingo Lake and Tilapia Lake, provide breeding grounds for the world’s largest concentration of Nile crocodiles. 
   • Central Island has a campsite where visitors can enjoy the beautifully haunting sight of the lake’s luminous waters wash up onto a black lava beach. At the same time, the moon rises over the menacingly smoking craters.
   • Evening sundowner/cultural visit from the Turkana villages.

   Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

3. Day 3: Return to Nairobi

   • Breakfast is served early in the morning. 
   • Depart to catch the morning flight that departs from Lodwar town to Nairobi. Airport transfers are included in the cost.
