Description
Witness the best of Kenya's wilderness in this 12-day safari, starting at Aberdare, where you'll see the spectacular waterfall and large herds of elephants. Visit Samburu, home to Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting oryx calves and see thousands of flamingos and other birds at Lake Nakuru and Naivasha. Also, do biking at Hell's Gate National Park and see the Big 5 in Masai Mara.
Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi
- You are met and transferred from Nairobi Airport to Jacaranda Hotel or similar, where you will be staying on a Bed and Breakfast Basis.
- Depending on the time you arrive, you will have the rest of the day to explore Nairobi at your own pace.

Day 2: Nairobi - Aberdare
- Depart from Nairobi after breakfast and head to Aberdares National Park.
- Arrive in time for lunch and rest at the lodge. You will get to enjoy a close-range view at the Ark Lodge where you will be able to see the elephants, buffalos and other animals.
Dinner and Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Aberdare National Park
- After breakfast, drive to Aberdares National Park, situated in the shadow of Mt Kenya, Kenya's highest mountain.
- Spend the whole day at the park. Aberdares National Park has a diverse topography that includes icy rivers, spectacular waterfalls and rain forests. Flora and fauna are quite unique and can not be found elsewhere in the country, except on Mount Kenya. The park is home to over 290 species of birds.

Day 4: Aberdare - Samburu National Reserve
- After breakfast, drive to Kenya's rugged northeastern region, home of the colourful Samburu tribe.
- Cross the equator enroute and visit the Samburu Game Reserve. This wildlife reserve provides some of the best and most colourful game viewing in the country.
- Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, followed by some time to relax.
- Enjoy an afternoon game drive, returning to the lodge at sunset.

Day 5: Samburu National Reserve
- Enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives exploring this arid wilderness while photographing its main inhabitants. The great thing about Samburu is that it is located in a semi-desert region of Kenya and therefore not overcrowded with tourists, so you are always assured of fantastic game viewing.
- Return to the lodge.

Day 6: Samburu - Lake Nakuru
- After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous as the home to thousands of lesser and greater flamingos. This park also provides a sanctuary for Rothschild giraffe, rhino and leopard.
- Continue to Lake Nakuru Lodge, where you will stay overnight.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru - Lake Naivasha
- Depart to the Lake Nakuru National Park for a morning game drive after breakfast. Get to see the wildlife that we had previously missed seeing.
- Head to Lake Naivasha afterwards to arrive in time for lunch and enjoy afternoon leisure time.
- Enjoy the optional boat rides or walk at Hell’s Gate National Park.
Dinner and Overnight stay at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

Day 8: Lake Naivasha - Hell’s Gate National Park
- After breakfast, head to the Hell’s Gate National Park where you will get to see the scenic gorges. The park has spectacular scenery, despite its rather alarming name, including the towering cliffs, water gouged gorges and belching plumes of a natural geothermal steam.
- You can also do biking in the park. Hell’s Gate is the only park where you can enjoy biking within the park. The park provides a truly panoramic picnic site camping stopover andan endless biodiversity thath allows walking or cycling without a KWS official escort. You will be able to see herds of Buffalos, zebras, giraffe and Thompsons Gazelle.
- Have a picnic lunch as you head to the Geothermal Olkaria Spa for a warm swim. The Olkaria Geothermal Station is one of the hottest sources of natural steam in the world with an underground water temperature of 304oC.

Day 9: Lake Naivasha - Masai Mara
- Have breakfast at Lake Naivasha and depart for Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch.
- Enjoy an afternoon game drive at the park. This reserve is one of Africa's most famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas, world-renowned for its exceptional populations of lions, African leopards, cheetahs, and African Bush elephants, among others.

Day 10: Masai Mara National Reserve
- Explore the Mara region, packed with the Elephant, Zebra, Rhino and all kinds of game throughout the year with the spectacular wildebeest migration from Serengeti occurring mainly in July and August. Being at Masai Mara is "as if you found yourself in the New York of the natural world according to some authorities".
- Enjoy the best opportunity of seeing all the big five.
Dinner and overnight AA Mara lodge.

Day 11: Masai Mara - Nairobi
- After breakfast, drive through the reserve viewing games as you proceed to the main Narok Road.
- Buy souvenirs or have a cup of tea at Narok.
- Drive to Nairobi, Kenya’s colourful capital city.
- On arrival, you will be dropped off at Ole Sereni Hotel.

Day 12: Nairobi
- Depart for your onward destination.
