Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve
- Get picked up from your hotel/accommodation in the morning. Drive towards the Maasai Mara National reserve through the Great Rift Valley, from where you can enjoy the scenic views at the escarpment and stop at the nearby Narok town on the way.
- Arrive in time for lunch and go for a game drive in the afternoon.
- Have dinner and stay the night at the lodge.
Day 2: Full-day game drive at Masai Mara
- Go for a full-day game drive across the rich tree-studded grassland and rolling hills. The park is known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is home to the Big Five- lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Spot several wildlife species among the vast open plains. The Sand, Talek River and Mara River are the major rivers draining the reserve and hillslopes and hilltops here are mainly covered with shrubs and trees.
- You can visit the Maasai village to explore the people's culture and activities (price not included).
- Return to your lodge, have dinner and stay the night.
Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi
- Embark on an early morning game viewing in reserve. Return to the lodge, have breakfast and start your journey back to Nairobi.
- Arrive at Nairobi in the late afternoon/early evening.

Know Before You Go

The Maasai Mara National Reserve (MMNR) covers some 1,510 km2 in south-western Kenya. It is the northern-most section of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, covering some 25,000 km2 (9,700 sq mi) in Tanzania and Kenya. It is bounded by the Serengeti Park to the south, the Siria escarpment to the west, and Maasai pastoral ranches to the north, east and west. The terrain of the reserve is primarily open grassland with seasonal rivers. In the southeast region are clumps of the distinctive acacia tree. Wildebeest, topi, zebra, and Thomson’s gazelle migrate into and occupy the Mara reserve, from the Serengeti Plains to the south and Loita Plains in the pastoral ranches to the north-east, from July to October or later. Herds of all three species are also resident in reserve.
