Itinerary

1. Day 1- Nairobi - Masai Mara

   • 05:00 hrs. – Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence or Nairobi airport. Hop into the 4 x 4 Jeep for your journey to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most popular wildlife park. The park is well-known for its immense parade of wildlife and, during the migration season (July – September), an unending stream of wildebeest and zebra.
   • Watch the dawn break over the fields from the comfort of your safari vehicle. We’ll make a stop at the town of Narok for breakfast.
   • As we continue to the Mara, you’ll see local homesteads and perhaps Maasai herders in their colourful wraps, tending to their cattle. We should arrive at the park at approximately 10:30 hrs.
   • We’ll be looking for lions, leopards, buffalo, rhinos, and elephants, plus the more than 95 other mammals that inhabit this massive habitat.
   • We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at the Mara River, the site of the animal crossing during the migration. Here, crocodiles lie in wait for the arriving hordes of wildlife, along with lions, cheetahs and other hunters.
   • We’ll spend the night in the Mara at your choice of safari lodge or tented campground.

   Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

2. Day 2- Masai Mara - Nairobi

   • The wildlife is waiting for us, so we’ll be up early to observe them coming into the new day. This will be followed by a big safari breakfast at your accommodation. By now, you’re beginning to get a feel for the rhythms of the great Mara and its myriad wildlife. 
   • We’ll head out on another game drive, tracking for more exciting predators. While here at the Masai Mara, there are several optional opportunities to enjoy. If you desire, take a visit to the local Maasai people in a nearby village. 
   • You’ll learn about their culture and perhaps see some of their ceremonies. For a soaring experience, few get to witness, hop aboard a pre-dawn hot air balloon flight over the park. There’s nothing like watching the land and the wildlife come alive as the day breaks below. This is Africa at its most wondrous. Ask your guide to make arrangements for either or both of these optional tours.
   • Now, it’s time to depart the reserve. We’ll take one last game drive as we exit on our way to Nairobi.
   • Travel back to the capital city, stop to refresh and view the great Rift Valley escarpment. Our 2-day adventure has been filled with dramatic moments like this and not soon be forgotten.
   • We should arrive back in Nairobi in the early evening and will bring you to your hotel, residence or the airport.
