Itinerary

1. Day 1 - Nairobi to Judmier Camp

   • Head to Nanyuki town from Nairobi to meet and have lunch with your Nairobi tour guide before proceeding to Sirimon gate (2,440 m), which is one of the many entry points into Mount Kenya National Park.

   • Take the track that winds uphill through the forest to reach a vast expanse of uncultivated land and stop at Judmier Camp (3,300 m) for dinner and an overnight stay.

   Duration of the trek: 3-4 hours

2. Day 2 - Judmier Camp to Shipton Camp

   • Follow the uphill track forking left at the junction followed by crossing the Ontulili river and go contouring through the Moorland.
   • Cross Liki North and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley to witness the panoramic views of the main peaks before arriving at Shipton Camp (4,200 m) for dinner and an overnight stay.

   Duration of the trek: 6-7 hours

   Distance covered: 17 km

   Ascent: 900 m

3. Day 3 - Acclimatization Day or Kami Hut & Hauseberg Lakes Visit

   • Spend the day acclimatizing or walk to Kami Hut and down to Hauseberg lakes according to your wish before returning to Shipton camp for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.

4. Day 4 - Trek to Mintos Hut & Mount Meru Bandas

   • Pass a steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing the visible part towards lower Hall Tarns to reach the arriving point, Lenana, followed by descending to Mintos Hut for breakfast and proceed further down to Mount Meru Bandas (2,950 m) for dinner and stay.

   Shipton to Lenana: 3.5 hours

5. Day 5 - Chogoria to Nairobi

   • Enjoy a hearty breakfast and walk for two hours till you reach a forest clearance to catch a transfer vehicle to Chogoria village. Take another transfer vehicle from the village to Nairobi.
