Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa and meet with your guide.

Day 2: Aksum
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Aksum, the African Iron Age Kingdom and oldest capital of Ethiopia.
Depart on a city tour, including visiting the ancient stelae (obelisks) and the national museum, widely rated as Ethiopia's best museum.
Then, visit the ruins of the Palace of the legendary Queen of Sheba and the tombs of ancient Axumite kings and queens.
Shop at some of the local shops in Aksum for locally made clothing and jewellery.

Day 3: Lalibela
Have breakfast, then travel to the airport for your flight to Lalibela, famous for its rock-hewn churches dating back 800 years. This is the most important stop on the historical route. You can view the 11 churches carved into the rugged mountainside from the air, which is an amazing spectacle.
Go on an afternoon excursion to visit those ancient churches.

Day 4: Gondar
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Gondar.
Go for a city tour of Gondar, including a visit to the Royal Compound, where the enchanting 17th-century built castles still stand.

Day 5: Bahir Dar
Drive to Bahir Dar through Lake Tana, the source of the Blue Nile.
Spend the afternoon by visiting a few isolated monasteries by boat. You can try bird-watching in the lush forest surrounding the lake.

Day 6: Addis Ababa
