Witness one of the most active volcanoes, enjoy an unforgettable camping experience at the top of the Erta Ale beside the rim of a lava lake, and explore the colourful hot springs in Dallol. Visit huge salt production of Afdera for Ethiopia demand, swim in the salt lake of Afdera. See the salt flat, salt mountain, the yellow pond (mineral spring), the salt lake (Asale), the traditional salt mining and the caravan camels.
Itinerary

Day 1: Mekele to Abala
- Drive from Mekele to Abala town as we go down, enjoy the landscape of the rift valley and take a coffee break.
- Drive to the volcano on the way lunch would be in the town of Iribti.
- Arrive at the base camp to make a final preparation and have dinner
- Trekking will take one and a half-hour after arriving at the volcano.
- Enjoy the magma fire and spend the night 200 meters away from the creator
- In the morning, walk to the base camp for breakfast.

Day 2: Ertale to Abala
- Drive to Afdera town, which is situated 104 meters below sea level and experience the heat.
- Afdera town is also known for the massive salt production of the country.
- Swim in the salt lake of Afdera and refresh from the natural hot spring situated beside the lake.
- Have lunch in one of the local hotels.
- Drive to Abala town and spend the night in a shared guest house if it is a group tour.

Day 3: Abala to Berhale to Hammadela to Dallol
- Visit the market of Abala town in the morning if it is a market day
- Drive to Berhale town. On the way, enjoy the landscape and some of the small villages.
- Have lunch in Berhale town
- After lunch, drive to Hammedela town where the campsite is found 7 kilometres away from the salt flat
- Drive to the salt plain of Dallol situated 121 meters below sea level (the lowest place in Africa)
- There will be a sunset program near the salt lake called Asale.

Day 4: Dallol to Berhale to Dallol
- Drive to the colourful place of Dallol and visit the extraordinary place
- Visit the salt mountain, the yellow pond (the mineral spring)
- Visit the traditional salt mining and the caravan camels.
- Drive back to the town of Berhale to have lunch.
- After lunch drive back to Mekele
