Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Jinka

   • Fly from Addis Ababa to Jinka. Meet your driver and guide at the airport.
   • Enjoy a quick lunch before visiting the Jinka Museum and Ari Village.

   Overnight stay in Jinka.

2. Day 2: Mursi and Hamer Tribes

   • Drive to Mursi Village in the Lower Omo Valley to see the tribe known for their distinctive lip and ear plates.
   • After lunch, travel to Turmi and visit the Hamer tribe, known for their colourful beads and intricate age-grade rituals. The Hamer are agro-pastoralists in the southern Omo Valley, numbering about 30,000. They are known for their body adornment, wearing many colourful beads. Women adorn their necks with heavy polished iron jewellery. Hamer society consists of a complex system of age grades.
   • Return to Jinka for an overnight stay.

3. Day 3: Karo Tribe and Departure

   • Depart for the village of the Karo people, known for their body paint and decorative practices. The Karo tribe, consisting of about 1,500 people, is the smallest ethnic group in the Omo Valley of Southwestern Ethiopia. Karo men and women decorate their faces and bodies with paint made from chalk and ochre to increase their attractiveness to the opposite sex.
   • Return to Jinka for an early lunch.
   • Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa.

   End of the trip.
