Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa

   • Arrive in Addis Ababa and transfer.

   • Go on a city tour.

2. Day 2: Bahir Dar

   • Fly to Bahir Dar from Addis Ababa.

   • Visit the Nile Falls in the morning.

   • Go on a Lake Tana trip in the afternoon.

3. Day 3: Gondar

   • Drive to Gondar from Bahir Dar.

   • Visit the Nubian style castles and palaces.

4. Day 4: Simien National Park

   • Visit Simien Mountains National Park, the largest National Park in Ethiopia.

   • Marvel at the panoramic views of sheer cliffs and the lowlands below.

5. Day 5: Axum

   • Drive to Axum.

   • Visit Tekeze gorge and make several stops for the view around.

6. Day 6: Axum - Sightseeing

   • Visit the Stele - Obelisk of Axu.

   • Go to Axum Tsion- an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

   • Explore the museums and tombs in Axum.

7. Day 7: Gheralta

   • Drive to Hawuzen.

   • Visit the ruins of the great Yeha temple.

   • Explore the Tigray rock churches.

8. Day 8: Mekele

   • Drive to Mekele.

   • Visit Abraha Atsbeha - a 10th-century church and one of Tigray's finest.

   • Explore Debre Tsion Mariam - an Ethiopian orthodox church.

9. Day 9: Lalibela

   • Drive to Lalibela.

   • Visit the village/people along the way.

10. Day 10: Lalibela - Sightseeing

    • Visit the three group of monolithic rock-hewn churches in Lalibela.

11. Day 11: Lalibela - Sightseeing

    • Visit Yimrahine Kristos Cave Church - an 11th/12th-century Ethiopian orthodox church.

    • Explore Asheten Mariam - a small monastery carved in a mountain.

12. Day 12: Addis Ababa

    • Fly back to Addis Ababa.

    • Continue sightseeing with the balance of the city tour.

    • Transfer to airport for departure back home.
