The Pyramids Of Giza And The Sphinx Of Memphis And Saqqara
- At 8 am, you will be picked up from your hotel in either Cairo or Giza by a tour guide to begin your one-day tour of the Pyramids of Giza, Khufu, Chephren, and Mycerinus.
- After seeing the famous pyramids and getting many pictures, visit the Valley Temple. This is the place where priests worshipped the body of King Chephren, the second pyramid on the Giza plateau. Here, you can get a closer look at the statue of the Sphinx, the legendary guardian standing beside the enormous funerary complex with its black body and the head of King Chephren.
- There is an opportunity to visit the pyramids from the inside or take a camel ride around them, but it will be subject to an additional 30-minute charge. The camel ride will cost you $10 per person, and a one-hour ride for $20 for your day trip to Saqqara, which is 16.7 miles (27 km) southwest of Cairo. An essential part of the evolution of the pyramid, designed by King Djoser, was the step pyramid, which was made from a simple shape to a widely known one.
- Then, continue your day trip to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where the statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Great Sphinx date back to 3100 BC.
- Your tour ends at your hotel.
