Itinerary
-
Day trip to Memphis, Saqqara, and Dahshur Pyramids
- Start at 8:00 or 9:00 am from your hotel in Cairo or Giza for your one-day tour of the Pyramid of Saqqara, located just 27 km southwest of Cairo.
- The Step Pyramid (designed for King Zoser) is an integral part of the evolution of the pyramid, which transitioned from a simple form to a widely known shape.
- Next, visit the pyramids of Dahshur, including the Bent and Red Pyramids. Dahshur is a royal cemetery situated in the desert on the west bank of the Nile River, approximately 40 km (25 miles) south of Cairo. It is primarily known for its numerous pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest, and most well-known in Egypt, constructed between 2613 and 2589 BC.
- Afterwards, explore Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where you will find a massive statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. The city dates back to 3100 BC.
