Have a stopover at Alexandria on your holiday cruise? Take this one-day tour to travel to Cairo and delve into its main attractions: the Pyramids of Giza and the nearby monuments such as the Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum, which showcases 6000 years of Egyptian history.

Itinerary

Giza: Explore the majestic history
- After a pick up from the Alexandria Port, travel to Giza. There, admire the spectacular man-made monuments: the majestic Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren, and Mykerinos.
- Next, see the Great Sphinx, which guards the Royal Burial Chambers and the Temple of Cheops.
Cairo: Discover ancient artefacts
- After a break for lunch, proceed to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Here, get to know the 6,000 years of Egyptian history. Take a guided tour of the museum and see the golden treasure of Tutankhamun, a great gallery of statues, portraits, and much more.
- Transfer back to ship at Alexandria Port.

Know Before You Go

Cairo, or Al Qahirah, lies along the River Nile, stretching 40 km from North to South. The citizens of Cairo proudly call their city 'Mother of All Cities' as it is not only the capital of Egypt but also the largest city in the Middle East and Africa.

Giza Plateau is on the West Bank of the River Nile, opposite Cairo. Giza's main attractions are the three Pyramids which we will tour.

We will use an air-conditioned vehicle to travel between sites.

There is a fair bit of walking.
