1. The Pyramids of Giza

   • Meet the tour guide who will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and visit the Giza Pyramids Complex. The three main pyramids of Giza (Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure) are sufficient to build a 2-meter-long wall and span 100,000 square kilometres around the globe along with the equator. The Great Pyramid of King Khufu is considered largely to represent the spirit of ancient Egypt. King Khufu, who built this Pyramid as a cemetery, has left little information about his reign. Khufu ruled for about twenty-four years. Ironically, despite the enormity of his pyramid, King Khufu's only statue is a small statue carved from ivory, about three inches long. 
   • Visit the Magical Sphinx. This stone sculpture is carved in the form of the human head and lion body, located on the Giza plateau in Egypt. The Sphinx is one of the oldest and the largest sculptures in the world and is about 73.5 meters long and 6 meters wide. There have been many different opinions about the symbol represented by the Sphinx. Ancient views said that it represents the wisdom of man and the strength of the lion together, and these qualities applied to “King Khafre“.
   • Head to the Valley Temple. It was used as a place for the embalming process. This temple was constructed for two functions: First, it was used to purify the mummy before its burial. Second, it was used for making the Mummification process of the king.
   • Enjoy your lunch and proceed to the Saqqara Step Pyramid. It was built in the era of the third dynasty in Sakkara. Designed by Architect Imhotep, it consists of six layers.    • Explore the following pyramids:
     • The Red Pyramid: It is called red due to the colour of its red-brown stone. The pyramid was not red at first. It was covered with a white layer of limestone. When this layer was removed, the red stones appeared. It’s located a short distance from Saqqara, built in Dahshur by Pharaoh Sinifro, the father of Pharaoh Khufu. The Red Pyramid is the second-largest base among all Egyptian Pyramids.
     • The Bent Pyramid: An excellent example of early Pyramid development in Egypt. It was built by the great pharaoh Snefru, and it was the second pyramid built by him. Bent Pyramid appears as a transitional form between smooth-sided and steep-sided pyramids.
