Day 01
Giza Pyramids, Memphis, Museum and Bazaar Tour
- In the morning, pick up from your hotel and join your private Egyptologist tour guide. Travel by private air-conditioned car to explore the great ancient Egyptian civilization on the Giza Plateau.
- Visit the Giza Pyramids Complex, which includes three main pyramids, six little pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. The complex dates back to the 4th Dynasty, 2400 years B.C.
- Head to the Great Pyramid of Giza, Chephren, and Mykerinus. It is considered one of the most ancient wonders of the world.
- See the Great Sphinx, which dates back to the time of King Khafre.
- Move to the Valley Temple, a granite mortuary temple used by the Ancient Egyptians for the mummification process. This is the only remaining one on the Giza Plateau.
- Drive to Memphis City, the first capital of Egypt in the era of the ancient state. It is among the World Heritage Sites and was founded in 3200 BCE by King Narmer.
- Rest and enjoy lunch at a Nile-view restaurant.
- Go to the Egyptian Museum, a majestic building constructed in 1902. The ground floor contains colossal statues spanning thousands of years, arranged in chronological order. Take an informative and enlightening tour of the upper floor, marveling at smaller statues, fossils, paintings, sarcophagi, and ancient Egypt maps.
- Stroll through the Khan El Khalili bazaar. The shops and bazaars display and sell a dizzying array of trinkets and artworks. Buy souvenirs for friends or simply meander around the bustling shops.
- Drop off at your hotel in Cairo.
