Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location in Luxor and begin the tour.
Visit Karnak Temple, the largest man-made temple complex, achieved by many generations of ancient Egyptian builders. Karnak is actually the site’s modern name. It was called during the ancient Egyptian time Ipet-isut, meaning “The Most Sacred of Places”.
Move to the three main temples of Mut, Montu and Amun, enclosed by enormous brick walls. The temple of Amun encloses the Temple of Osiris Hek-Djet.
Continue to Luxor temple which is parallel to the riverbank. King Amenhotep III built this beautiful temple for Amon-Re, king of the gods, his consort Mut. It was completed by Tutankhamun and Horemheb and added to by Rameses II.
Proceed to the rear granite shrine dedicated to Alexander the Great. During the Christian era, the temple’s hypostyle hall was converted into a Christian church and the remains of another Coptic church can be seen to the west.
Head towards the wonderful Luxor Museum with your Egyptian tour guide.
Proceed to the Museum of Mummification.
Return to the hotel.
