Itinerary
-
Felucca Ride in Aswan
- In the late afternoon, a tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and transfer you to the Nile side, where your Felucca is waiting. Board your boat and relax on the soft cushions. Experience the peace and tranquillity of the Nile water that has been the lifeblood of Egypt since Pharaonic times. Enjoy a cool drink as you gently glide down the river.
- The Felucca will sail to the Aswan Botanical Garden "Lord Kitchener's Island". The island was given to Lord Horatio Kitchener in the 1890s when he was commander of the Egyptian army. Lord Kitchener turned the entire island into a stunning botanical garden, indulging his passion for beautiful palms and plants, importing plants from the Far East, India and parts of Africa. Covering 6.8 hectares, it became a paradise of exotic trees and plants in gardens with view walkways. It later passed into the property of the Egyptian government and was used as a research station for examining different food and cash crops.
