Itinerary

1. Day 1: Aswan Tour

   • Welcome to Aswan, Egypt. A representative will pick you up from Aswan International Airport by the exit door, holding a sign with your name written. He will meet & assist you at Aswan International Airport (Arrival procedures), and then he will escort you to the hotel in an exclusive air-conditioned deluxe vehicle.
   • Start your tour with a visit to the High Dam, an engineering miracle constructed between 1960 and 1970. It aimed to increase economic production by further regulating the annual river flooding, providing water storage for agriculture and generating hydroelectricity. The dam has significantly impacted the economy and culture of Egypt.
   • Then move to the Unfinished Obelisk. This obelisk is believed to belong to Queen Hatshepsut, one of the rulers of the 18th dynasty and the royal wife of King Tuthmosis II. The unfinished obelisk is the largest known ancient obelisk, located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt in Aswan, Egypt. It is unknown which pharaoh created this structure. It is nearly one-third larger than any ancient Egyptian obelisk ever erected. If finished, it would have measured around 42 m and weighed nearly 1,200 tons. 
   • Back to the hotel.

2. Day 2: Nubian Villages - departure Aswan

   • Breakfast at your hotel and check out, and then you will meet your tour guide to start your day tour.
   • Visit a Nubian community on Sohail Island on a 3-hour, Private tour from Aswan that includes a round-trip transfer from your hotel or cruise ship, a boat ride, and tea in a traditional Nubian house. Travel past Elephantine Island on a felucca sailboat or in a modern motor boat, learn about local culture and history, and enjoy free time to explore Sohail Island on your own. This tour is a personalized experience.
   • Begin with pickup at your centrally-located hotel or cruise ship: the exact time of departure depends on your location and will be confirmed by our tour guide or representative.
   • Transfer to a jetty on the Nile River, where you'll board a boat for Sohail Island. Depending on river conditions and weather, you'll travel in a traditional felucca sailboat or a modern motorboat. Take in views of the Nile riverbanks on the way to Sohail Island, passing Elephantine Island along the way. Disembark on Sohail Island, and visit a traditional Nubian house to learn about the history and culture of the Nubian people over a glass of welcome tea.
   • Finally, you will be escorted by your guide back to Aswan Airport.
