1. Day 1- Explore the Highlights of Alexandria

   • Meet the tour guide who will pick you up from Cairo (or Giza) and drive (almost 210 kilometres) to Alexandria City, the second largest city in Egypt, known as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean." Its great natural beauty and rich cultural and historical heritage make it one of the most preferred traveller's attractions in Egypt. It was founded by the Macedonian leader Alexander the Great, who conquered Egypt in 332 B.C.
   • Start the day tour by visiting the pillar of Pompey. It is an architectural marvel located amidst the ruins of the Serapeum in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria. It is one of the largest places of antiquity. The Serapeum was an ancient Greek temple that was built during the reign of the Ptolemaic kingdom in Egypt and was dedicated to the new deity worshipped in Alexandria and all over Egypt, Serapis who was believed to be the protector of Alexandria.
   • Visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. These tombs represent the last great existing construction for the sake of the ancient Egyptian religion. The catacombs consist of three layers of tombs and chambers cut out of the rock under the ground and the beautifully decorated burial of a rich Romanized Egyptian family.
   • Head to see the fabulous reincarnation of the famed ancient library of Alexandria. The original library held the largest collection of manuscripts in the world and was a great center of learning for 600 years until it burned down in the 3rd century. The NEW library of Alexandria is the biggest library in the world now, with 8 million books on the site of a lighthouse, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
   • Drive to the roman Amphitheatre, the open-air museum for sunken monuments and unknown soldiers of Alexandria, and the statue of Alexander the Great, built east of Alexandria on a high hill, overlooking the most beautiful beach of Alexandria.
   • Proceed to see the Qaitbay Citadel, built on the site of the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria, then to Bibliotheca Alexandria, named after the Mameluke Sultan Al- Asharf Qaitbay. The Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria is considered one of the most important defensive strongholds in the Mediterranean Sea. Visit the citadel that used to formulate an important part of the fortification system of Alexandria in the 15th century A.D.
   • See the Summer Residence of King Farouk, last king in history of Egypt. Enjoy the embracing gardens blazed of colors and the beautiful architectures of the Montazah Palace, and then you drive along the Cornish to see the whole city passing over bridge of Stanly, a landmark of modern Alexandria.
   • Go to your hotel in Alexandria for the night's stay.

2. Day 2- Visit to the El-Alamein Museum

   • Drive to El-Alamein, located about 240 kilometres northwest of Cairo and 106 kilometres west of Alexandria. 
   • Visit the El-Alamein War Museum and the War Cemetery, known as The Commonwealth Cemetery, which contains the graves of soldiers from different countries killed during the War El-Alamein. El-Alamein was one of the most important spots in the second World War. So, you will be able to know more about the Second World War and all historical events from our expert tour guide. 
   • Head back to your hotel in Cairo.
