Join this 4-day climbing tour to Mount Carihuairazo and experience scaling a glacier. This tour allows climbers to train and prepare for Chimborazo summit, the highest peak in Ecuador. An easy trek, Carihuairazo is a good acclimatization peak where you can practice some snow and glacier walking skills. The short length of its standard route makes this a great "easy" peak, especially for soloists.
Itinerary

Day 1: Riomamba to Carihuairazo Refuge
Meet your English-speaking Ecuadorian guide at an agreed-upon point in Riobamba. Transfer to Carihuairazo refuge.
Enjoy a mild trek in the afternoon.
- Have an early dinner to prepare for the climb later.

Day 2: Trek to the Carihuairazo Summit
Start climbing at 2 am. Trek to the glacier and summit by 6- 8 am.
Transfer out to Chimborazo low refuge at 3840 meters.

Day 3: Explore the low refuge of Chimborazo
Transfer to Carrel refuge at 4800 meters.
Have an early dinner at 10 PM.
Start ascent during the night.

Day 4: Conquer the summit at Carrel Refuge
Reach summit by 6-8 am.
Return to the refuge and transfer out to Riobamba.
