Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival

   • Arrive at San Cristobal and transfer to the hotel.

   • Have lunch and a visit to Liberia: a mangroves beach where we can observe sea lions, marine iguanas, frigate birds.

   • Walk at the cliff and spot swallow-tailed gulls, blue-footed boobies.

   • Return to the beach and look for sea turtles and sea lions.

     • Optional: Kayaking trip Mann - Darwin Bay Beach: $25 per person.

2. Day 2: San Cristobal Island

   • Visit the highlands of San Cristobal Island.

   • Our first stop: Junco Lagoon, where we usually see frigates drying their wings.

   • Visit the Galapaguera turtle reserve and walk to Puerto Chino, a white sand beach, to relax and swim before returning to port.

     • Optional: Instead of Puerto Chino, walk (medium difficulty) through a forest of giant cacti in the “Opuntia Garden” until “Veinte Varas”.

3. Day 3: Lobos and Kicker Rock Island

   • Boat trip for a snorkel on the islands of Lobos and Kicker Rock, looking for sea lions, marine iguanas, many tropical fish species.

   • Enjoy a nice stop on a beautiful beach for lunch on board and then relax and swim around the beach.

   • After a short rest, have a smooth hike to frigates hill to see the statue of Darwin (which is the first place to get anchored in the islands).

   • Our last stop is Playa Carolinas.

4. Day 4: Isabela Island

   • In the morning, fly to Island Isabela.

   • On arrival, visit the Wetlands: RAMSAR site that hosts big biodiversity: shorebirds, marine iguanas, turtles.

   • Go to the Tintoreras islet to see Galapagos penguins, marine iguanas, sharks resting in a channel formed by lava, Galapagos Hawks.

   • Snorkel in the bay.

5. Day 5: Sierra Negra Volcano

   • Hike to Sierra Negra Volcano: first by car and then hike up to the crater. Continue to Volcán Chico. The lava flows are awesome!

   • Have lunch at a local farm.

     • Optional: Instead of Sierra Negra: hiking (intensive) to the sulfur mines “Volcan de Azufre” with boxed lunch.

6. Day 6: Santa Cruz Island

   • Early departure by speedboat to Santa Cruz Island.

   • Visit the highlands: there, we will see turtles in their natural habitat, lava caves, and the Twin Craters.

   • Have lunch, and then hike to Tortuga Bay Beach, where we can see iguanas and shorebirds.

     • Optional: Kayaking: $25 – per person.

7. Day 7: Floreana Island

   • Take a trip to Floreana Island.

   • Birdwatching in Enderby, snorkel at Lobería or daylight and visit the “Asilo de la Paz” (giant turtles, pirates, and caves).

8. Day 8: Uninhabited Island

   • Day trip to an uninhabited island, such as Bartolome / Seymour / Plazas or Santa Fe (destination to be confirmed with your reservation, there is a different destination every day.)

   • Hike and snorkel.

9. Day 9: Uninhabited Island

   • Take a day trip to an uninhabited island (different from the previous day) as Bartolome/ Seymour / Plazas or Santa Fe (destination to be confirmed with your reservation, there is a different destination every day).

   • Hike and snorkel.

10. Day 10: Departure

    • Free time until transfer to the airport.

    • Optional: Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station.
