Itinerary
-
Quilotoa Lagoon
- Enjoy a wonderful journey to the most impressive volcano in the western Andes, known as Quilotoa or Quiru Toa, which means “The Princess Tooth”. This is a fantastic drive through stunning mountain sceneries and stops along the way to visit local Andean communities.
- You will travel along the spectacular ‘Avenue of Volcanoes’ passing beneath its towering peaks, stopping in a village of the Paramos community, the painter's town known as Tigua, where you’ll explore a local home, learn about their daily life and admire their art. Finally, you will visit the lagoon inside Quilotoa volcano (you can choose to hike down to the lagoon or just admire it from the viewpoint). Also, after the hike, you can return by mule-riding all the way to the viewpoint. At this point, you will enjoy a nice typical lunch at an Indigenous Restaurant famous for the Potatoe Soup.
- At the end of the day, we return back to Quito.
