Day 1: Quilotoa Lake Tour
You will be picked up by your tour guide from the Quito International Airport. Start your 3-hour journey towards the Quilotoa Lake, a water-filled crater lake. The route to the small town of Quilotoa is generally travelled by truck or bus. One can board a bus from the town of Zumbahua, 17 km to the South, or more commonly from a bus stop at Latacunga.
You can go for activities including a four to five-hour hike around the caldera (over 3 km). The 10 km hike is sandy and steep in places and can be quite taxing, particularly if there is fog.
