Description
Explore Otavalo, which is located in Imbabura province, 86 km north of Quito. This town is now one of the most important tourist destinations of Ecuador. Surrounded by mountains, lakes, rivers, streams and springs; this small city is a paradise. The city of Otavalo is known worldwide for its famous handicraft Indian Market.

Departure at 08h00.
Explore the colourful town of Otavalo and the most famous Indian fair in South America. The Pan American Highway takes you through spectacular mountain scenery. Enjoy a spectacular view of people and communities as they perform their daily chores.
Stop at Guayllabamba where you can taste the "chirimoya" fruit, a speciality of the area. Visit the viewpoint of the road to Cayambe. Admire and photograph the beautiful valleys and snow-capped mountains surrounding this place.
Visit the viewpoint of the Laguna de San Pablo, at the foot of Imbabura volcano.
Stroll through the Otavalo market or Plaza de Ponchos showing varied indigenous crafts, handmade. It is also possible to visit the rural parish of Peguche and learn more about the local culture and the weaving process of the tapestries.
After lunch, go to the Cotacachi village, known as the "music capital of Ecuador." It is rich in the production of fine leather garments, displayed and sold in small and large shops in the center of the city.
Back in the hotel around 17h00.
