Kiel Sailing City (Kiel Maritime Heritage Tour)
Under this brand, the Schleswig Holstein state capital is known among sailors worldwide. The Kiel Week, in particular, but also other top-class sailing regattas, made the Olympic city the world capital of sailing in 1936 and 1972. However, on the Kiel Fjord, it’s not just about points and trophies; sailing is a part of life in Kiel. There are over 2,200 water and 460 land berths for yachts and dinghies in the nine recreational boat harbors in the city area. Numerous places in the ports of the surrounding communities on the fjord are to be added. There is even a harbor area for traditional sailing ships and historic watercraft.
- We will experience and visit some of them after about an hour and a half boat ride from Kiel center to Laboe.
- After getting off the boat, we will walk on the beach. We will visit the Naval monument and technology museum U 995.

Naval Memorial
The silhouette of its tower, which is visible from far away and rises 85 meters above the Baltic Sea, shapes the face of the Kiel Outer Fjord.
