- Marienplatz, the city's most famous central square.
- Viktualienmarkt, a daily food market and a square in the center of Munich, is Viktualienmarkt developed from an original farmers' market to a famous market for gourmets.
- Hofbräuhaus is a beer hall in Munich, initially built in 1589 by Bavarian Duke Maximilian I.
- Max Joseph Square and the Opera House.
- Odeonsplatz is a large square in central Munich developed in the early 19th century by Leo von Klenze.
- Feldherrnhalle is a monumental loggia. It was built to honour the tradition of the Bavarian Army. In 1923, it was the site of the brief battle that ended Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch.
- Theatine Church and Our dear Lady's Cathedral.
- Hofgarten is a famous garden built in 1613–1617 by Maximilian I, Elector of Bavaria, in the style of Italian Renaissance garden.
