Itinerary
-
A Day In Xi'an
- Meet your Xian (Chinese) guide and air-conditioned coach at your central Xian hotel in the morning. (The pickup time is usually between 8 am to 9 am; you will be informed of the exact time one day before it starts through your hotel or email/your mobile.)
- Drive to UNESCO-listed Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, located in the east suburb of the city.
- Before visiting the museum, stop at a terracotta figurine factory to specialize in reproducing the clay warriors and learn how they were made; you will have the opportunity to buy some souvenirs if you are interested in them. In this tour, you will learn the true story of extraordinary ancient clay warriors, one of the world's most important archaeological discoveries. Found by local farmers in 1974, this vast army of soldiers and chariots was created in the 3rd century BC to accompany China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, in his afterlife. The figures were buried alongside him and consisted of thousands of sculptures that have individual features, uniforms, and postures.
- Marvel at the rows of more than 7,000 sculptures in the Museum. See Pit 1, the largest of the excavated pits and home to around 6,000 soldiers, and view Pits 2 and 3, with their cavalry and infantry units and officers.
- Afterwards, your trip finishes with a hotel drop-off in Xian downtown.
