Description
This 6-Day Tibet tour will cover the three important traditional towns: Lhasa, Gyantse and Shigatse. Experience authentic Tibetan traditional culture on this guided tour. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Potala Palace, the Jokhang temple and Norbulingka in Lhasa. Visit the Tibetan Buddhist Geluk-pa school and the largest monasteries of Drepung and Sera. Stroll through the ancient streets of Bakhor and see the holy turquoise lake in Yamdrok-Tso Karo-la glacier. Visit the Gyantse Pelkor Choden monastery and Tashilunpo monastery at the end of the tour.
Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival at Lhasa
- Arrive at the Lhasa airport and pick up to check-in at the Hotel.
- Get acclimatized and take some rest in the afternoon.

Day 2 - Lhasa City Sightseeing Tour
- After breakfast in the hotel go to visit the Potala Palace. The Potala Palace is located at the centre of Lhasa city, it is built by Tibetan king Songtsan Gampo and his Chinese queen in the 7th century. The white part is used as an office and the red part honours every generation of Dalai Lama’s stupa.
- Explore the Jokhang temple and Bakhor street.
- Walk through the Kora road to sightsee Bakhor street and a Tibetan traditional market.
Dinner and overnight at Lhasa.

Day 3 - Lhasa City Sightseeing Tour
- Have breakfast in the hotel and visit the Drepung monastery located at the foot of Mount Gephel in the western part of Lhasa city.
- Explore the Ganden Podang in Drepung, which was the residence of Dalai Lamas until the Great Fifth Dalai Lama constructed the Potala.
- Visit the Norbulinka (Tibetan literally Jewelled park) situated in the western part of Lhasa city.

Day 4 - Lhasa, Yamdrok, Tso-Gyantse & Shihatse
- After breakfast in the hotel depart from Lhasa to Shigatse.
- En route, cross the Gangbala pass (4790 m).
- Reach the top of the pass to appreciate the turquoise lake, then continue heading towards Gyantse.
- View the Karo-La glacier and reach Gyantse.
- Visit the Pelkor Choden monastery and drive to Shigatse (2 hours).
Dinner and overnight at Shigatse.

Day 5 - Shigatse & Tashilunpo Monastery
- After breakfast in the hotel go to visit the Tashilunpo Monastery, located on the southern slope of the Nyimar Hill in the west of the Shigatse town, found in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama Dendun Drupa (8th disciple of Tsongkapa). It is known as one of the six major monasteries of the Gelukpa sect and the largest monastery in the Tsang area.

Day 6 - Final Departure
- Have breakfast in the hotel and drive to Lhasa airport to catch a flight.
