- At the beginning of the tour, your professional tour guide will give a detailed history lesson about the Summer Palace. Feel free to ask questions if you have any. Then followed by your guide, explore many important courtyards and halls, including these buildings:
- The Hall of Benevolence and Longevity, where imperial families received officials and foreign envoys
- The Hall of Jade Ripples, where the emperor was under housing and arrested for ten years
- The Hall of Fragrant Herbs, emperor's bookstore

- Walking along the longest corridor in the world, admire the paintings on the ceiling
- The Hall of Dispelling Clouds, the tower of Buddhist Incense, admire it from a distance.
- The Marble Boat - a foreign-style superstructure symbolised the Qing Dynasty's stability.
