Itinerary

Day 1: Nsimalen International Airport - Yaounde
- Arrive at the Nsimalen International Airport, meet our agent, and transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Yaounde – Somalomo (250km)
- Have an early morning breakfast and take off for Somalomo.
- Arrive at Somalomo and negotiate for entry formalities into the Dja Forest Reserve.
- Cross the Dja River through ferry transport, then head to the pygmy village.
Overnight open air under the tent on a camping ground.

Day 3: Pedestrian walk within the Dja Fauna Reserve
- After breakfast, depart to Schouam, situated some 10 km from the camping ground, accompanied by a local guide who will explain the customs of the different village communities we find on the way.
- After 7km of pedestrian walk within the forest, we shall uncover the buffalo rock overlooking a part of the reserve.
- Admire the nice panorama of the canopy (treetop) stretching as far as the eye can see—the possibility of observing animals and taking photo shoots of them.
- Picnic in the heart of the forest and discover the forest.
- Dinner and overnight in tents under the tree tops.

Day 4: Pedestrian Walk Within The Dja Fauna Reserve
- Have an early morning breakfast and hear the sounds of wild birds and animals as the branches and leaves of the forest also wave at you.
- Spot animals roving on the Schouam rock.
- Depart for the Forest clearings or bais located about 25 km away.
- Walk in the forest, observing the natural splendour of this forest reserve.
- Stop for lunch and then take a stroll in the reserve.
Dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 5: Further Activities Within The Dja Fauna Reserve
- Have an early morning breakfast and head to the Forest Clearings.
- After settling into the camp, have your lunch in the afternoon.
- Watch for animals in the clearings, including elephants, gorillas, sitatunga, bosngos, birds, etc., swimming in the surrounding straps.
Dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 6: Somalomo
- Have an early morning breakfast and observe animals in the Forest Clearings.
- Pedestrian walk to return to Somalomo.
- Enjoy lunch and continue the tour.
Dinner and overnight in a tent mid-way in the forest.

Day 7: Somalomo
- After breakfast, head out to observe animals.
- Return to Somalomo and have lunch.
- Take some rest before resuming the walking tour.
- Arrival at Somalomo and check-in at Somalomo guest house.
- Go for a swim in the Dja River.
Dinner and overnight at the guesthouse.

Day 8: Somalomo – Yaounde (250km)
- Have a hearty breakfast and take off for Yaounde via Ayos.
- A brief stopover at the Bifolone Pygmy village and arrive at Ayos.
- Explore the Nyong River and try your hand at fishing.
- Enjoy “Kanga” species of fish freshly caught from the River Nyong.
- Return to the hotel in Yaounde.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Yaounde – Mefou National Park – Nsimalen International Airport
- Enjoy breakfast and depart to the Mefou National Park to visit the endangered primates.
- Return to Yaounde and visit the National Museum of Yaounde. Discover the different monuments of the city.
- Shop at the craft centre at Tsinga and drive to the Nsimalen International Airport for the return flight.
End of Tour.
