Tour of Petrohue waterfalls, Osorno Volcano & Todos Los Santos lake
- About 50 kilometres from Puerto Varas, we will find the area called Saltos de Petrohue. This sector is part of the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, a reserve of native temperate humid Valdivian forest. It will make you connect with the elements between dense forests and rivers with pure waterfalls.
- After a hike in the middle of the forest to enjoy the magnificent waterfalls of Petrohue at the foot of the Osorno Volcano, we will continue to Lake Todos los Santos. This lake is also known as Lake Esmeralda for the colour of its waters. It is surrounded by low forests of medium altitude formed by numerous native trees such as Ulmo or Tepa, the Osorno, Puntiagudo volcanoes and Mount Tronador. These forests remind us of the cold steppes or the young Canadian forests.
- Not far from there, we will continue our visit on the road to the Osorno volcano, where we will observe the vegetation that will change as we climb, passing from dense and high forests to a lower nature, mosses and lichens which perfectly colonize this humid environment. In spring, the skirt of the volcano is adorned with all the colours of the rainbow thanks to its flowering of native lupins and other flowers. We will have the opportunity to listen to the song by the birds of the area.
- At the end of the day, after visiting the Petrohué waterfalls, Todos Los Santos Lake and the Osorno Volcano, we will end up heading south to the village of Cochamó. From this village on the banks of the Reloncavi estuary, we will do a moderate difficulty hike of about 1-hour go and return to arrive at the panoramic point of view Entre Volcanes which, as its name suggests, gives us a breathtaking view of the estuary, and the Osorno and Yates volcanoes.
- Finally, after a beautiful day full of visits, we will return to Puerto Varas.
