Visit the Rano Raraku volcanic crater and Moai Statues of the Easter Island
- Depart from Hanga Roa’s town at 9:30 am and move towards the southeast and northeast coasts of the Island.
- Stop at Ahu Akahanga, the place where the first king on this island, Hotu Matu'a, is buried.
- Spend a good time checking out Moai statues and the remains of an old village with stone foundations of boathouses and old stone ovens.
- Visit the Rano Raraku volcanic crater, located on the lower slopes of Terevaka in Rapa Nui National Park and have an excellent sight of 400 plus Moai statues and the crater lakes inside Rano Raraku.
- Pass by Ahu Tongariki, the largest Ahu (stone platform) on the island.
- Enjoy the site of the famed Paro Moai site at Ahu Te Pito Kura, the largest moai statue transported from the Rano Raraku volcano quarry and erected successfully on an ahu.
- Arrive at Ahu Nau Nau, an archaeological complex where the origin of the Rapa Nui culture began.
- Relax under the clear skies of the beautiful sandy beach of Anakena.
- End this trip back at Hanga Roa town. If interested, we can also make one more stop at the Vaitea farm.
