Embark on a journey from Pto Natales to Torres del Paine National Park to explore Gray Beach and its peninsula, where icebergs from the Gray Glacier may drift close to shore. Continue with a rewarding hike to Mirador Cóndor, a key viewpoint in the park's hydrographic basin, with sweeping views of the Paine Massif. This 12-hour excursion combines lakeside scenery, glacier-shaped landscapes, and one of Patagonia's most striking panoramic lookouts.

If conditions allow, it is possible to see blocks of ice or icebergs close to the beach, on the shore of Lake Gray.

The itinerary

Day 01

Gray Beach and Mirador Cóndor Hike in Torres del Paine

  • 07:00: Departure from Pto Natales to Torres del Paine National Park. The journey takes approximately 2 hours.
  • 09:00: Enter the national park through the Río Serrano gate, arriving in the CONAF Nursery Río Pingo sector.
  • 10:00: Begin the walk along Gray Beach and its peninsula. This hike is of low to medium difficulty and lasts approximately 2 hours. If conditions allow, it is possible to see blocks of ice or icebergs close to the beach, on the shore of Lake Gray. These come from the Gray Glacier, located approximately 11 km from the beach.
  • Return to the Río Pingo Nursery sector, where your box lunch will be served.
  • After lunch, board the van and head to the Camping Pehoé sector to begin the trail to Mirador Cóndor. This hike lasts around 2 hours and is of medium to high difficulty. It is considered one of the most important trails and viewpoints in the hydrographic basin of Torres del Paine National Park and the Paine Massif.
  • This mirador is also characterized by the presence of condoreras on the slopes of the hill that forms it.
  • After reaching the summit viewpoint and spending time there for observation and photographs, begin the descent toward Mirador Pehoé, where the van will be waiting to start the return to the city of Pto Natales at around 6:30 p.m.

  • Transfer times are approximate and may change depending on the activity carried out each day, including weather conditions and wind alerts.
  • Please note that these excursions must depart from Pto Natales. Any other departure point must be discussed in advance to determine additional costs (Villa Cerro Castillo, Valle del Serrano, within Torres del Paine National Park, etc.).
