Itinerary
-
Day 1: Maun
Arrive at Maun International Airport. You will be met at the Airport by your Botswana safari guide, holding a signboard.
The guide will take you to your accommodation, where you will stay for 1 night on a bed-and-breakfast basis at your own expense. Lunch and dinner will be served at your own expense.
-
Day 2: Okavango Delta
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Mokoro station at Boro, where you will drive through the water channels and reach your campsite.
Upon arrival at your camping area, freshen up and do a short nature walk, then return to the camp and have your lunch.
After a siesta, enjoy high tea and resume your afternoon activity. You will enjoy mokoro and nature walking safari activities and will witness an amazing safari experience. There will be much to see from water-based animals and other wild animals such as zebra, impala, elephant, kudu, giraffe, waterbuck, hippo, and crocodile. Bird watching is also quite remarkable and includes hornbills, secretary birds, cranes, vultures, plovers, and doves.
Come back to the camp before sunset and have a shower, then dinner follows.
Sit around the fire and experience the fresh breeze. The last guest determines bedtime.
-
Day 3: Moremi Game Reserve
Upon arrival at Moremi Game Reserve, go for game viewing immediately. A packed lunch will be served en route.
After lunch, game viewing continues and before sunset guests will be taken back to the campsite, where they will have time to refresh, have dinner and spend a night under a canvas tent. You will camp here for one night only. The last guest determines bedtime.
-
Day 4: Mababe Concession
The Mababe village is situated on the banks of the Khwai River, approximately 125km northeast of Maun, the Safari Capital. The village is 50 kilometres from Moremi/Khwai village, 10 kilometres to Mababe Gate, and 60 kilometres from Savute in Chobe National Park. You will camp here for one night only.
Wildlife is demanding its price. The inhabitants of Mababe are not able to grow crops due to the presence of elephants, buffalo, and numerous antelope species. Neither can they keep livestock due to the presence of predators such as lions, hyena, wild dogs, cheetah, jackals, etc. The location of the campsites enables one to see most of the big five game: Lion, Buffalo, Elephants, and Leopards, as well as other animals like Hippo, herds of Zebras, Giraffe, Wildebeest, and others.
In the camps, the following activities are offered:Camping: At the campsites, you are closest to nature as you can be without forgoing at least a minimum of comfort.
Day & Night Game Drives: Let the guide take you for a once-in-a-lifetime game viewing drive at any time of the day with experienced tour guides and a fully customized safari 4x4 land cruiser.
Guided Bush Walks: Stretch your legs in the bush and get up close and personal with nature. Always listen to your professional tour guides and leave nothing behind (except footprints).
Bushmen Cultural Activities: Get some insights into the culture and living of local Bushmen people and participate in and learn about their daily activities like hunting, collecting, building, and watching the Bushmen perform some of their cultural heritage.
N/B: Night game drives and Bushmen cultural activities come at an extra charge. They are not included in the rate.
-
Day 5: Savuti
Begin your safari in the morning with a warm shower, have breakfast and then depart to Savuti, where you will have the opportunity to see some of the game along the road. Your arrival time at the camp will be determined by what you see on the way.
Upon arrival at the camping site, lunch will be served; then it's siesta time.
After a siesta, have high tea and resume your afternoon game drive with your local safari guide.
Later, before the sunset, you will drive back to the camp, have a warm shower and then dinner will be served. The last guest determines bedtime. You will camp here for one night only.
-
Day 6: Chobe National Park
- Have a quick breakfast before departing for a morning game drive, which is longer. You will also have an opportunity to observe the animals up close. Chobe also boasts two antelopes rarely encountered elsewhere in Botswana: the puku and the Chobe bushbuck. The puku, with their shaggy orange-brown coats and V-shaped horns, can be spotted grazing the floodplains. Always look for predators, a repetitive whistle warns fellow herd members. In contrast, the Chobe bushbuck is nocturnal and rarely forms groups of more than one pair. Rarely seen, this shy antelope, with its short, spiral horns, relies on a sharp bark as an alarm call when threatened. Both the puku and the bushbuck have several predators to contend with, from lions, hyenas, and leopards to African wild dogs.
- Go back to the campsite after a beautiful drive, have lunch, and then go for a siesta.
- At 3:00 p.m., you depart for a beautiful sunset boat cruise along the Chobe River at your own expense. You will come very close to crocodiles and pods of hippos from the boat. You may see lions from the boat, as well as big herds of buffalos and elephants. The last guest determines bedtime.
-
Day 7: Kasane
Wake up early have breakfast and depart to Kasane International Airport where you will catch your flight back home. Travel safe hope you enjoyed your time.
