Itinerary
-
Day 1: Maun
Arrive at Maun International Airport, where you will be met by your Botswana guide/representative. Look out for a signboard. The tour starts in Maun and to the Okavango Delta. This safari is simple yet comfortable, and all your needs will be catered for. So, don't hesitate to join this safari and be amazed by what Marvelous Mobile Safari offers. Discover and explore the other side of nature on this amazing safari trip.
Transfer you to the Mokoro station by 4WD open-sided safari vehicle (about an hour) where you will meet your guide and poler.
Glide along myriad water channels in a mokoro (dugout canoe), looking for wildlife and bird species which inhabit the Delta. There are no facilities out there as you camp on an island your guide chose.
On arrival, your guide will take you for a game walk, where you can enjoy awesome sightings and the sound of birdsong, followed by lunch.
After lunch, you may enjoy a siesta moment in camp to avoid the mid-day heat. Your accommodation will be a 2.4m x 2.4m dome tent with a comfortable bedroll with linen.
Wait for the sunset for the amazing changes in a hue that give visitors so much pleasure.
At dusk, your guide will light you a fire, where a chef will prepare all your meals. Please bring a hat and sunscreen as there is no shade. The last guest determines bedtime.

Day 2: Okavango Delta
- An early morning game walk will be available for interested persons returning to the camp when ready to enjoy breakfast.
After breakfast, the mekoros can be retaken to enjoy the channels with the intricate veins of waterways which interconnect the lagoons or take a guided bush walk before having lunch or snacks.
In the afternoon, the guides will take you in the mekoros to a safe location where swimming is possible in the waters of the Okavango Delta, followed by a chance to learn how to pole a mokoro using the gnashi.
Time can be taken to relax and have a drink.
After the bush walk, you can relax and unwind in the camp, refresh and have dinner under the Milky Way starlit skies, after which the guides and polers will narrate cultural stories and entertain you with traditional dances which display animal tracking techniques and gathering methods for traditional medicinal purposes. Guests interested in astronomy will be treated to one of the most expansive displays of stars on earth before retiring in cosy tents for the night and drifting off to the sounds of the wild. The last guest determines bedtime.
-
Day 3: Okavango Delta
After enjoying a stunning sunrise, soaking up the peace and serenity of the Okavango Delta, and a light breakfast, the camp crew will break camp before departing for the downstream return trip, arriving at the boat station before lunch.
Once again, your guide will pole you along myriad water channels looking for wildlife and bird species which inhabit the Delta - and because they believe in providing a memorable and relaxed travel experience, the journey will include periodic pauses for your viewing pleasure: all in all simply summed up in one word - Unforgettable. The guides take pride in creating the perfect experience that is different from others.
-
Day 4: Departure
Once back at the boat station, transfer to your place of accommodation in Maun or transfer to the Airport, where you will catch your flight back home.
