Itinerary

1. 09:00: We meet

   • Here, we have a tourist service centre, where we can go to the toilet, drink water and get some flyers/maps. 
   • If we are lucky, we can even get a free tour (not always available).
   • Usually, we use this time to organise our stuff and prepare for the day.

2. 09:20: Let's begin

   • We kind of go around the whole area in a counterclockwise, talking about each building and taking time to admire the views that the different angles provide.

3. 10:00: Niterói's Bus Terminal

   • We will visit the heart of the public transportation system of Niterói.
   • Talk more about how it was in the past for people to move around.

4. 10:10: Ferryboat Terminal

   • Here we have the city's symbol. A statue of its founder: Araribóia
   • From here we can see other important landmarks on the landscape and talk about them too.

5. 10:20: Chit Chat

   • We walk and stumble on history so they say. Here it is not different. That is why we will be walking slower than a tortoise!

6. 10:30: Honor the enslaved

   • Because it was one of the places where we had peoples trafficking for forced labor in farms and houses, let´s remember their story in front of this sacred place.

7. 10:40: Niterói's Theatre

   • Art was a privilege back on those days of empire. We will learn some curiosities of this place.

8. 10:50: Rink Plaza

   • One of the places that marks the begining of the neighborhood. And, as usual, full of stories.

9. 11:00: Conception Mary Church

   • A church that holds interesting stories and has a nice museum full of sacred objects.

10. 11:10: Republic Monument

    • One of the places with status back in those days. Still is important nowadays, as it holds historical buildings everywhere and interesting stories just by having a look on them.

11. 11:20: Niterói´s Water Reservoir Park

    • A very pleasant walk in the park.. Literally! We will be able to see art, flora, fauna, architecture, nice views.
    • Everything just by wandering on it´s paths.

12. 12:00: Saint John´s Cathedral

    • A plaza and a church would always mark the city´s main area of events and meeting. Here we will understand more about this dynamic of the portuguese heritage. It is the last one we will visit! I swear!

13. 12:20: Lunch time

    • Sore feet and knee? Why not ice them up with a cold beer(not included) and seafood traditional dishes(not included) of the house? It is definitely the cherry on top.

14. 13:00: Farewell

    • I am thankful to be trusted with your half day here at Niterói and enjoyed your company! 
    • I hope you got bitten by curiosity and are willing to continue exploring the city with me!
