Description
We will discover Salvador’s Cidade Baixa or Lower City during this tour. The city’s port and commercial district looks at the calm waters of All Saints Bay and is characterized by the rustic air of an inland town. We will start our tour at Farol da Barra and enjoy the spectacular view of the bay. On our way to Bonfim, we will stop at Salvador’s most traditional ice cream shop, Sorveteria da Ribeira, where we will have a chance to enjoy some of the over 70 flavours available, many of which are made with the typical fruits of the region. Next, we will arrive at Bonfim Church, one of the most famous churches in all of Brazil and a great representation of the religious syncretism so present in our culture. We will stop at Ponta de Humaitá and Montserrat Fort, enjoying a breathtaking panoramic view of Salvador. We will then head to the Dique do Tororo (Tororo Lake), with its famous sculptures of the Orixás (African Deities) by artist Tati Moreno and the soccer stadium, Arena Fonte Nova.
Itinerary

Lower City of Salvador
- The guide will pick you up at your hotel, and we wil drive along the Barra neighbourhood at the mouth of the Bay of All Saints, with the Fort of Santo Antônio & Lighthouse.
- From there, we continue along the financial district of Salvador, which is the beginning of the Lower City.
- Arriving at the Ribeira neighbourhood, we will stop to enjoy the beautiful view of the largest bay in Brazil while tasting our most famous ice cream.
- From there, we will continue our way to the mystical Bomfim Church, where we can tie the colourful ribbons asking for our wishes or protection.
- The next stop will be at Montserrat & Humaita for pictures and coconut water. On the way back, we will drive by the Dique de Tororó to understand the African influence in Salvador.
