Walking Tour of Downtown Rio and Lapa
- Meet with the tour guide at your hotel.
- Take the subway to the downtown area of Rio de Janeiro and begin with the walking tour.
- Visit the Cinelândia, the most eclectic space of Rio built between 1902-1910 and the beautiful Municipal Theatre, the Pedro Ernesto Palace, built to be the city council, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the National Library, that houses the Portuguese royal Library that came with D. Joao VI from Portugal.
- Check out the Federal Justice Cultural Center, admire the architecture and visit its cafe, theatre and exhibition halls.
- Walk to Lapa, the bohemian area of Rio de Janeiro and watch the Carioca Aqueduct, built in the 18th century to bring water into town and is a typical example of colonial architecture and engineering.
- Marvel at the Selarón Stairs, built by the Chilean artist Jorge Selarón, claimed it as his tribute to the Brazilian people and reached Santa Tereza, the rural area of Rio de Janeiro see the Parque Das Ruinas and Carmelita's convents, built-in 1750.
