A Day In Skopje
- Pick up from your hotel/accommodation by your tour guide.
- Drive to Skopje from Sofia ( around 3 hours).
- Explore the Skopje Fortress, situated on the highest point in the city overlooking the Vardar River.
- Visit the Church of the Holy Savior, which despite its simple construction hides fantastic iconostasis.
- Continue towards the Sultan Murat Mosque and the Old Bazaar.
- See the Caravanserais (inns), where travellers would rest during their journey on the Silk Road when the city was one of the main trade centres on the Balkans.
- After lunch in a typical Macedonian restaurant, cross the Vardar River and explore the new part of the city.
- Walk around the neo-classical Macedonia Square.
- Stop at the Memorial House of Mother Teresa.
- End your tour at the Porta Macedonia (newly built triumphal arch).
- Head back to the hotel/accommodation at the end of the tour.
