I am working on voluntary basis as a freelance service education officer for the ‘In Flanders Field Museum’ in Ypres (Belgium). My role is to guide students who are visiting the museum and the city. These visits are organized by a school and take place in a learning setting as part of their education. The visit to the IFFM covers the course of WWI (1[sensitive content]), its origin and evolution and personal experiences of those involved, such as soldiers, families, etc.Furthermore, walking tours in and around the city cover various topics, all related to the war.Experiences of families are linked to historical places, allowing visitors to enjoy the contemporary city from a different perspective.
As a resident of Ypres, known as the City of Peace, I can organize visits tailored to each group specifically. These range from a walk through the city, a tour in the war museum or a combination of the two. Both the duration and the content of a visit can vary depending on the preferences and interests of the party [sensitive content]addition, the tour can be done in Dutch, French, English or Spanish.
