Visit Sanahin, Haghpat, & Akhtala Monastery
- Meet with your tour guide at the hotel in Alaverdi
- Visit the masterpieces of medieval Armenian architecture, Sanahin and Haghpat Monasteries. These Monasteries are huge complexes in the North of Armenia founded in the 12th-13th centuries. Both are outstanding masterpieces of Armenian architecture in which artistic merits transcended the limits of the national culture. They are included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
- Stroll through the Akhtala Monastery, built on an elevated rocky outcrop surrounded by deep canyons from three sides. Archaeological excavations have shown that humans have occupied the area since the early Bronze Age. It was built from blue basalt and was considered to be unapproachable by the enemies.
- Check out the church walls of Surb Astvacacin, which is famous for its highly artistic frescoes and cover the inside walls, partitions, and the building's bearings.
- Travel back to your hotel after the tour.
