Itinerary
-
Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery, Symphony of Stones, Lake Sevan, and Sevanavank Monastery Tour
- Discover some of the most important landmarks in Armenia, such as the Arch of Eghishe Charents, on this private tour from Yerevan. Learn all about Armenian history and culture as you visit Garni, the only pagan temple in the country, and the distinctive rock-carved Geghard monastery.
- In the province of Kotayk, not far from the village Garni, one of the most well-known and beautiful natural monuments of Armenia – the Symphony of Stones. It is said that this natural monument is the result of the collapse of the volcanic rocks. The monument consists of the massive paradoxically symmetric hexagon and pentagon basalt columns (nearly 50 meters high). These stones hanging against gravity resemble an organ, which explains why it is also called “Basalt Organ Pipes.”
- You see Sevanavank monastery, to which we have to climb several dozen steps starting from the peninsula. After getting acquainted with the monastery's history, if you wish, you can sail on Sevan Lake, which is one of the alpine freshwater lakes on earth.
