Itinerary
-
Day 1: Yerevan - Garni temple - Geghard monastery - Sevan lake - Tsaghkadzor
Meet with your Armenian tour guide at your hotel in the morning and drive up to Garni Hellenic Temple.
On the way to Garni, stop at the Charents's arch, which is one of the most suitable places with the best view of Mt. Ararat.
Visit Garni Temple, the only standing structure of the pre-Christian period in the formerly Soviet Union.
Go down to the gorge of Azat River known for huge basalt hexagon type structures held along the river bank. These structures are called Stone Symphony and are considered as one of the important natural monuments of Armenia.
Explore Geghard Monastery carved out from the mountain. It is one of the most beautiful monasteries in Armenia and has a mysteriously soothing atmosphere inside its walls. It is also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The next stop of the tour is Sevan Lake, the biggest lake in the Caucasus. It never loses its charm all year round and is regarded as the pride of the Armenian people.
Visit Sevanavank Medieval Monastery situated in a narrow peninsula of the lake.
The last stop of the day is Tsaghkadzor city, where you arrive in the evening and settle in the hotel.
-
Day 2: Tsaghkadzor - Dilijan city - Haghartsin monastery - Parz lake
Meet at the hotel just after breakfast and visit Kecharis Monastery which is located in the central part of the town, then take the ropeway ride and admire the picturesque view over the forests. If you take all the five stations, you will reach 2819m above sea level and will have a fantastic panoramic view of the surrounding. The lush greenery filled with fresh clean air really uplifts the mood and aura all around.
The next stop is Dilijan city, perhaps the most popular resort center in Armenia.
Getting acquainted with the old town, visit the Haghartsin Monastery of the medieval period located deep in the forest. The road up to Haghartsin Monastery looks like an episode from a fairy tale due to its folksy wild setting and rural location.
Head to Parz Lake near Dilijan town. This small lake reflects all the beauty of forests on its surface and one can truly feel like a part of a grand old dreamscape. You can also take a zip line above the lake.
In the evening, head back to Yerevan with unforgettable impressions, emotions and memories of Armenia.
