Exploring Tirana
- 9:00 AM
- A visit to the center of Tirana, the capital of Albania, starting from Skenderbej Square, the architectural ensemble of the Ministries of Tirana, and the famous Pyramid (the former museum of Europe's greatest dictator, Enver Hoxha).
- There will be panoramic opportunities to visit the capital and buildings erected before and after the Italian occupation in 1939 in the Old Market area.
- Enjoy a tour and tasting of traditional Albanian food (as it used to be during communism: bread, beef and pork meatballs, or other traditional dishes).
- End with coffee and traditional brandy, with a view of old villas from the '25-'35 period, still standing amidst the metropolis of strange architectural buildings, painted with colors and graffiti.
- 12:00 PM
- Afterwards, we swim in the Adriatic Sea. Along the way, you’ll explore old alleys and visit one of Albania's most ancient cities, 36 km from Tirana, traveling by public transport (bus line) provided by me.
- 5:00 PM
- Return to the center of Tirana, where you can enjoy the late afternoon and evening in the Block area. This area, once restricted to the villas of former communist leaders, is now filled with luxury bars and restaurants. (It’s also linked to a famous song, "Tirona," by West Side Family, featuring the current Prime Minister Edi Rama.)
- 8:00 PM
- There will be local beer (or traditional craft beer) offered by me, and you will have the opportunity to talk with residents, colleagues, and my friends in Tirana.
