Description
Explore the Tepelene fortress, built by Ali Pasha Tepelena, visited by many notable people of the time, among them the British Poet Lord Byron. Continue to Gjirokaster, located in a valley between the wide mountains and the Drino river valley and see the “pass of the bazaar”, as the locals call it, which is the heart of the old town with a lot of art, crafts and handmade souvenirs shops, lovely little taverns and restaurants.

Tour of The Stone City of Gjirokaster

- Depart from the pier/hotel or your specified meeting place to reach the town of Tepelene.
- Have a coffee break along the way just before reaching the town of Tepelene.
- Visit the fortress of Ali Pasha Tepelena.
- Continue further towards Gjirokaster and visit the Old Town, The Pass of the Bazaar, Skenduli House and the most dominant and strategic point, the Castle of Princess Argyro. A local tavern will make you happier having tried local food and drinks.
- Late afternoon, head back to the pier or your specified place.
