Description
The Black Cave, also known as the Pëllumbasi Cave (650 m above sea level), is considered one of Albania's rarest karst caves and prehistoric settlements (declared a natural monument in 2002). According to the Museum of Natural Sciences at the University of Florence, the skeletons found in this cave belong to the cave bear (Ursus Speleaus), who lived 400,000 to 10,000 years ago. There are only five such caves in all of Europe.
