Even though South Africa is not the biggest country, it does boast with a vast diversity. Some even say South Africa is "the world within one country" because of its variety in both fauna and [sensitive content]uth Africa has 9 provinces and 11 official languages including English.Not only is a visit to one of our National Parks highly recommended, but each of our seasons offer something different and utterly unique to the visitor.Even during winter, South Africa is a spectacular visit.Average temperatures in the Pretoria area during winter is about 12° Celsius.Within the borders of South Africa, national parks are everywhere to be found.We all know the famous Kruger National Park, with an area of about 200 000 km² and home the Big 5.The Big 5 includes the Lion, Leopard, African Elephant, African Buffalo and the Rhino.Many smaller parks in South Africa are also home to amazing wild life and beautiful scenery.Pilanesberg is a mere 2-3 hours drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria and homes the Big 5. The Cradle of Humankind hosts the Lion and Rhino park with the Wondercaves, and the Sterkfontein caves close by.Explore the Cradle of Humankind where Mrs Ples, Big Foot and other skeletal remains were found.Other parks in South Africa include the Addo Elephant Park near Knysna in the Western Cape; Tsitsikama National Park near Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape and of coarse the Kalagadi Park in the Northern Cape between South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.
